The chancellor calmly responded to the incident, not attaching any importance to it. However, this will have security implications.
An unknown person entered the government motorcade and attacked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. Bild reported this in connection with the investigation protocol.
On May 24, Scholz participated in the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main. In the evening he went to the airport under police escort.
On the way, a 48-year-old man entered the convoy in a private car. It is noted that he has a Greek surname. During the interrogation, he said that he thought it was a wedding cortege.
Although the car numbers were not in the database, it was allowed to enter the closed airport area with the rest of the convoy.
The members of the delegation quickly boarded the airliner, but Scholz was delayed because he was on the phone. As he got out of the car, the unidentified man ran down the runway and rushed the chancellor.
“He shook her hand tightly, pulled her to him and pressed her to his chest, trying to hug her. It was only then that Scholz’s guards realized something was wrong,” the newspaper wrote.
The chancellor himself calmly responded to the incident, not attaching any importance to it. However, this will have implications for government guards.
It will be remembered, earlier near the motorcade of the Prosecutor General of Bulgaria there was an explosion. And in London, a royal motorcade knocked a woman to her death.
