This is introductory training. Pilots will be able to train on simulators and make test flights on fighter jets. The Swedish government has already given permission for this. Countries will have to make a number of decisions before the training begins, but such news can be seen as the first step towards the acquisition of Swedish fighter jets by Ukraine. This was announced on May 25 by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Jonsson, TV4 reports.
At the same time, the minister stressed that now there is no question of transferring the aircraft in service with Sweden to Ukraine, because the country itself needs them.
We took the side of Ukraine in this war and we see a threat to Sweden if Russia wins this war,” Jonsson stressed.
As you know, the Saab JAS 39 Gripen is a fourth-generation multirole fighter designed with versatility in mind. He can perform tasks as a fighter, attack aircraft or reconnaissance aircraft. These aircraft have good stability during supersonic flight and high takeoff and landing performance.
Recall, the media reported that about 20 Ukrainian pilots will begin the first stage of training on the F-16 in the UK. These will be basic ground training for Ukrainian pilots, after which they will be ready for more specialized fighter training.
