The Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine sent an indictment against a thief in law nicknamed Andriy Lvovsky.
A 50-year-old native of the Lviv region is accused of murder, illegal handling of weapons and forgery of documents. He can face imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
According to investigators, in 2009, together with other people, he killed his friend and business partner. At that time, Andrei Lvovsky sought to obtain the highest status in the criminal hierarchy – a thief in law, and his friend, because of the conflict, was going to initiate a so-called “gathering” and complain about him to the leaders of the criminal world.
In the event of such a meeting, the suspect would have missed the chance to receive the status of a thief in law, so he decided to get rid of his business partner.
Thus, after the murder in October 2012, Andrei Lvovsky was “crowned”. Since that time, the accused began to control the activities of criminal groups, “shadow” schemes of the real sector of the economy and was responsible for the criminal fund.
In 2020, in order to avoid criminal liability, the man left Ukraine and, using fake documents, hid abroad. Currently, the whereabouts of Andrei Lvovsky is established.
Operatives of the Department of Strategic Investigations, investigators of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police, together with the Office of the Prosecutor General, completed the pre-trial investigation into the thief in law and sent the indictment to the Goloseevsky District Court of Kyiv.
The man is accused of committing offenses under paragraphs. 6.12, part 2 of Art. 115 (premeditated murder) Part 1 of Art. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives), Part 3.4 of Art. 358 (forgery of documents, seals, stamps and forms, sale or use of forged documents, seals, stamps) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
