The GUR representative noted that the situation in the Belgorod region introduced “elements of panic” among the representatives of the Russian leadership.
Andrey Yusov, a spokesman for the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, said that the Russians immediately evacuated the Belgorod-22 nuclear weapons storage facility located in the Belgorod Region. He said this on the air of the telethon.
“In an urgent mode, the Belgorod-22 facility – a storage of nuclear weapons – was also evacuated by the Rashists. It is not far from Grayvoron,” said Yusov.
According to him, part of the ammunition for nuclear weapons is stored there.
The GUR representative added that the situation in the Belgorod region introduced “elements of panic” among the representatives of the Russian leadership. This is evidenced by the evacuation of the local population.
“The evacuation of the Belgorod-22 military facility is also a reaction. We understand that to get rid of such facilities, you need to have a plan, serious equipment is involved, and the number of personnel,” Yusov emphasized.
Recall that this morning in the village of Zamostye, Belgorod region of the Russian Federation, explosions were heard, after which the area lost light. Soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps showed footage of their special operations in the region.
Later, the GUR announced that a “safety zone” had been created on Russian territory to protect Ukrainians.
As noted in the Office of the President, Ukraine is not directly related to the events in the Belgorod region.
