In the Belgorod region of Russia, they announced the introduction of a “counter-terrorist operation regime” (CTO). This was announced by Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on Monday, May 22.
“To ensure the safety of citizens in the Belgorod region, for now, a legal regime for counter-terrorist operations has been introduced, establishing special measures and temporary restrictions,” he said.
Gladkov said that during the CTO they can check the documents of individuals, as well as suspend the activities of dangerous industries and organizations that use explosive, radioactive, chemically and biologically hazardous substances.
It will be remembered that on the morning of May 22, explosions were heard in the village of Zamostye, Belgorod Region, Russia, after which the lights went out in the area. Soldiers of the Russian Volunteer Corps showed footage of their special operations in the region.
Later, Ukrainian intelligence said that a “safety zone” had been created on Russian territory to protect Ukrainians. The president’s office noted that Ukraine is not directly related to the events in the Belgorod region.
