In the Nikolaev region, the first stage of the Tiligul wind power plant (WPP) with a capacity of 114 MW began to work. This was announced by DTEK on Monday, May 22.

It was noted that 19 WPP turbines produce up to 390 thousand kWh. This is enough to provide electricity to 200,000 households per year.
At the same time, the foundations have been laid for the installation of another 64 turbines of the second stage of the Tiligulskaya wind farm. The construction of 500 MW capacity will make it the largest wind farm in Eastern Europe.
“In 2022, we had big plans for the construction of the new Tiligul wind farm, but the Russian invasion temporarily suspended this project. Now I want to say: we decided to continue the construction of the wind farm, and the first phase of the plant at full capacity. The war will not stop us. We continue to create jobs, pay taxes, generate electricity, restore networks, fight for our energy independence and invest in the future. We will win the war,” said Rinat Akhmetov, SCM investor.
DTEK noted that they will continue to contribute to the implementation of Ukraine’s strategy for building 30 GW of renewable energy capacities until 2030. Overall, the Tiligulskaya wind farm project will increase DTEK’s green energy capacity from 1 GW up to 1.5 GW.
Recall that the 30 to 2030 project, which should be part of the recovery plan for Ukraine, was presented by DTEK in 2022 during the World Economic Forum in Davos, calling on European companies to join the renewable energy development project in Ukraine.
Later, DTEK CEO Maxim Timchenko said his company would continue to invest in green energy.
