Kiev, Ukraine (AP) – The governor of Ukraine’s eastern region says at least six civilians were killed in Russia’s recent bombing of the city, the center of clashes. Three months after the war.
Lugansk Oblast Governor Sergi Haidai said on Wednesday that eight more people had been injured in the bombing in Sievierdonetsk in the past 24 hours. He accused the Russian army of deliberately targeting shelters where civilians were hiding.
The city is located in the eastern industrial center of Ukraine, the Donbass, where Russian forces continue to attack despite intense resistance from Ukraine.
Moscow -backed separatists fought Ukrainian forces in the Donbas for eight years and occupied most of the territory. Sievierdonetsk and its neighboring cities are the only part of the Luhansk region in the Donbass that is still under the control of the Ukrainian government.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky said on Tuesday that the country’s forces were faced with a difficult situation in the region.
“Almost all of the Russian army force, whatever is left, was fired upon in the attack there,” he told the country. “Liman, Popasna, Sievierodonetsky, Slavyansky: the occupiers want to destroy everything there”.
The solution of grain exports from Ukraine seems inevitable.
The British military says it is “very unlikely” that Ukraine’s land export routes will seize the problems caused by Russia’s blockade of the Black Sea port of Odessa, which has put further pressure on international grain prices.
The UK Defense Ministry said in an update published on Wednesday morning that there had been no “significant” commercial shipments to or from Odessa since the Russian invasion began.
Illegal and unprovoked aggressions continue in Ukraine.

The ministry said the blockade, along with the lack of sea routes on land, meant that a significant supply of grain remained in storage and it was impossible to export it.
