The head of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, accused Poland of “betrayal” of historical memory and said it should return Russia $750 billion for “liberation from the Nazis” and recovery after World War II.
“Poland has betrayed historical memory. I forgot that the Soviet people succeeded in liberating it from the fascist invaders at a high price. Poland exists as a state only thanks to our country,” Volodin wrote in Telegram.
Volodin said that “a third of the current territories of Poland – areas with developed infrastructure, industrial enterprises, and rich in natural resources – became part of it after the Second World War only thanks to Russia. “
“In the post-war period, the Soviet people, who distanced themselves from themselves, spent more than 750 billion dollars on the restoration and development of Poland, according to today’s estimates (more than 800 -industry, energy, and transportation facilities were built) ,” he said.
Volodin emphasized that Poland seems to be “behaving boorishly” when it destroys monuments to a Soviet soldier, closes schools in Russia and “steals the property of the Russian Federation.”
“Abandoning general history, Poland must return the territories acquired as a result of World War II and return to our country the funds spent on it during the war and post-war years,” the Kremlin politician added.
Volodin said that it would be “correct” to ban the passage of Polish trucks on the territory of the Russian Federation and even considered that the Poles “could lose about 8.5 billion euros” here.
Recall that Poland withdrew funds from the accounts of the Russian Embassy.
