The concern wants to produce armored vehicles as soon as possible, such as Fuchs transport tanks, as well as Panther tanks and Lynx infantry fighting vehicles.
Ukroboronprom and the German concern Rheinmetall will create a joint venture that will start production from Fuchs armored personnel carriers. Armin Papperger, head of the German company Rheinmetall, told Bild about it.
He noted that the production of ammunition for the Gepard anti-aircraft self-propelled gun will begin in the summer. A new production line is currently being commissioned at the Unterlüs plant in Lower Saxony. But Rheinmetall wants to build plants in Ukraine.
To do this, a joint venture will be created with the Ukrainian state company Ukroboronprom.
“We will start with the maintenance and repair of existing vehicles, and we also want to produce armored vehicles, such as Fuchs transport tanks, as soon as possible,” said Papperger. Ukraine is also interested in a modern Panther tank and Lynx infantry fighting vehicle, he added.
The head of Rheinmetall also noted that Germany has already delivered 18 modern Leopard-2 and 40 Marder tanks to Ukraine.
It was previously reported that Ukroboronprom and the German company Rheinmetall entered into a strategic partnership agreement to strengthen Ukraine’s defense industry and its national security through the creation of a joint venture.
Remember that Ukroboronprom will increase the production of shells.
