The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov wrote about this in his social networks on May 20.
Strengthening air defense / missile defense remains our number 1 priority. Ground systems – from MANPADS to powerful batteries – and missiles to them are always in focus. In particular, we will talk about this with colleagues at the next meeting in the Ramstein format next week, – announced the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov.
Recall that a coalition of fighters for the Ukrainian Air Force is currently being formed in the world. Earlier, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that Abrams tanks would be delivered to Ukraine in early autumn.
At the same time, the training programs for the Ukrainian military to work for them should be completed.
According to him, it is difficult to speed up the delivery of tanks, because the US military is not only sending equipment to Ukraine, but also creating the infrastructure that will support its work.
Austin added that at the end of April, NATO countries and members of the Ramstein Contact Group delivered more than 230 tanks, 1,550 armored vehicles and other equipment and ammunition to Ukraine to support more than nine new armored brigades.
