The module seems to be able to track targets and destroy them, keeping the beam on them, regardless of their speed.
Belarusian company Science and Technology Center Lemt presented a prototype of a “module for the destruction of unmanned aerial vehicles using a laser beam” at an arms exhibition in Minsk. This was reported on May 19 by the TASS agency.
According to the manufacturer, the module prototype, with a capacity of 30 kW, appeared as part of a project for one of the customers in the Middle East.
“This is a laser for combating drones. Depending on the technical parameters, it hits drones at certain distances. This particular system is a close combat system that operates at a distance of up to 1.5 km, ” said the company.
As stated, the development has the ability to “self-accompany the targets and destroy them, keeping the beam on them, regardless of the speed of their movement.” It can be mounted on machines and transported in a container.
“The first sample was sent to the customer in the Middle East. It proved to be good, but there are still some problems, we are solving them. This year we are making a sample for the Belarusian army,” the representative of Scientific . and added the Technical Center. Lemt.
