The Russian Ministry of Defense is spreading false claims about the alleged destruction of the Patriot air defense system in Ukraine, because this is supposedly revenge for the drones over the Kremlin.

However, the fall of the drone on the roof of the Kremlin and the Russians’ statements about Ukraine’s involvement in this is an exclusively information and psychological operation of the Russian authorities directed against their own population. And Moscow wanted to please the Russians themselves with some fictitious “victory”, because the enemy cannot achieve anything at the front and during air attacks. On May 19, Andriy Chernyak, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, stated this in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine.
And since the latest large-scale attacks on Kyiv and Ukraine did not bring any results to the enemy, the Russians decided in their imagination to “destroy” the Patriot. Chernyak explains that in any case, the Russians are trying to turn this situation to their advantage.
The GUR also emphasized that the latest Russian air attacks were aimed at revealing Ukrainian air defense, pulling systems away from the front line and destroying military facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The enemy will do this as long as they have enough resources.
Recall on May 16, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that during the shelling of Kyiv, their Kinzhal missile allegedly destroyed the Patriot complex. However, later it became known that the system received minimal damage as a result of falling debris. And on May 18, the Pentagon announced that the Petriot had already been repaired and was in working order.
