The think tank confirmed that in April 2021, John Gerbst experienced symptoms that could indicate poisoning.
The Atlantic Council, an American analytical center, confirmed information about the possible poisoning in 2021 of one of the prominent critics of the Kremlin authorities, former US Ambassador to Ukraine John Gerbst, who now works for this organization. This was stated in a statement released by the Atlantic Council.
“Ambassador Gerbst is one of at least four people who in the past two years have experienced possible poisoning or intrusion (at home – ed.) by unknown persons associated with Russian special services,” said of the report.
In April 2021, John Gerbst felt symptoms that could indicate poisoning. Then the doctors gave effective help to the former ambassador, but could not prove that it was poisonous. He has recovered from this incident.
The Atlantic Council later cooperated with federal law enforcement on the matter, who later also took a blood sample from Ambassador Herbst, but lab results found no toxic compounds.
“The health and safety of our staff is the highest priority. We contacted law enforcement immediately at the time of Ambassador Herbst’s illness, but due to the test results, we have decided not to publicize the incident,” Frederick Kempe , director general of the center, said in this regard.
Recall that in 2018 it became known that in Britain, in the town of Amesbury near Sosbury, there was a poisoning – two people were taken to the hospital unconscious, because of the latter, due to Novichok nerve gas poisoning.
