For the grain initiative to work effectively, the problems Russia is creating need to be removed within months.
The Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Ministry of Restoration Alexander Kubrakov said that the grain agreement has been unlocked, it will continue to be valid until July 18.
“The world will continue to receive Ukrainian products thanks to the efforts of our partners under the agreement – Turkey and the UN. I noticed that the grain initiative has been and is valid, because it was extended in March for 120 day, until July 18,” he said.
Kubrakov recalled that since the middle of April, Russia has unjustifiably begun to limit the work of the initiative, and since May it has actually blocked it, refusing to register ships going for loading in Ukrainian ports.
“Almost 70 vessels are waiting in the territorial waters of Turkey, 90% of which are ready to deliver the products of our farmers to the world,” said the Deputy Prime Minister.
According to him, for the effective work of the grain initiative, it is necessary to eliminate the problems created by Russia for several months in a row due to the sabotage of inspections and registration of a new fleet.
“We hope that our partners will make every effort so that the grain agreement starts working fully for the world’s food security, and finally Russia stops using food as a weapon and for blackmail, ” emphasized Kubrakov.
Earlier, the media wrote that the grain agreement would be extended.
Recall that within the framework of the grain initiative, about 30 million tons of Ukrainian agricultural products were exported.
