Serhiy Cherevaty, a representative of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this on May 17 on the air of the Freedom TV channel.
This day was no exception – the defense forces advanced in different areas up to 500 meters, freeing the Ukrainian land, namely in the Bakhmut direction,” he said.
And Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar informed in Telegram that almost 20 sq. km the Ukrainian military did not lose.
Fierce battles continue in the city itself, the enemy is advancing somewhat there. The Ukrainian military is doing everything possible in the current situation, they are working professionally and on the verge of possibilities.
Recall that the other day, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, visited the Ukrainian defenders in Bakhmut and stated that they use the principle of “active defense”, thus destroying the plans of the enemy, who still has “more resources”.
And the Wagner mercenaries, according to the general, feel in Bakhmut like rats in a mousetrap, because the Defense Forces from the north and from the south continue offensive operations and win.
