The peace initiative should be based on President Zelensky’s “peace formula,” the White House said.

The United States is ready to support the initiatives of a peaceful settlement of the war aggression in Ukraine from other countries, if they are approved by the Ukrainian side. This was said in a briefing by the coordinator of the White House National Security Council, John Kirby.

“We will support any proposal for peace presented by a third party, as long as it is reliable, feasible and sustainable. For these conditions to be fulfilled, such a proposal must be supported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian people. . There is nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine, as we have said a million times and continue to say,” he said.

According to Kirby, the peace initiative should be based on President Zelensky’s “peace formula” that he presented in November 2022. It contains 10 points, including the return of territories to Ukraine during 1991 and the payment of reparations .

It will be recalled that the President of the Republic of South Africa (South Africa), Cyril Ramaphosa, said that on behalf of African countries he spoke with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and the leader of Russia, Vladimir Putin. And, they said, they agreed to accept the mission of African leaders with a peace initiative.

Earlier, Ramaphosa assured that South Africa will not support any side in the war in Ukraine.
