The Ukrainian formula for peace is the only plan that can stop Russian aggression, Volodymyr Zelensky warned a guest from Brazil.
The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the Special Adviser to the President of Brazil on International Affairs Celso Amorim. The head of state announced this in Twitter on Thursday, May 11th.
“I met with the special adviser of the President of Brazil on international affairs, Celso Amorim. He emphasized that the only plan that can stop the Russian aggression in Ukraine is the Ukrainian formula for peace. We discussed the possibility to have a Ukraine-Latin America summit. I look forward to continuing the conversation with President Lula da Silva and will be happy to welcome him to Ukraine,” Zelensky wrote.
It was also learned that separate negotiations with Amorim were held by the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak. They were accompanied by the Deputy Heads of the Presidential Office, Igor Zhovkva and Roman Mashovets, Advisor – Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights and Child Rehabilitation Daria Gerasimchuk and Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strelets.
During the meeting, the guests were told about the challenges Ukraine is facing due to the Russian aggression, the current situation at the front, the actions of the Russian aggressors, including the latest Russian missile attack on infrastructure and civilian population, as well as the Ukrainian formula for peace.
Yermak expressed hope for a more balanced position of Brazil and President Lula da Silva personally regarding Russia’s armed aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
Earlier, Lula da Silva said the US should “stop encouraging war and talking about peace.” And before that, he proposed that Ukraine hand over Crimea to Russia “to end the war.”
The President of Brazil also called for the creation of an analogue of the G20 to end the war in Ukraine.
For its part, the White House said that Brazil is only repeating Russian and Chinese propaganda, and is not seeking peace in Ukraine.
