This was announced on May 10 by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky in Telegram.
Thanks to the well-thought-out defense in the Bakhmut direction, we are getting the results of the effective actions of our units. In particular, we produce effective counterattacks. In certain sectors of the front, the enemy was unable to withstand the pressure of the Ukrainian defenders and retreated to a distance of up to 2 km, Syrsky said.
According to him, the competent defense operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine exhausted the trained forces of the PIK “Wagner” – in some areas they were forced to give up positions to the worse-trained units of the Russian regular troops, who were defeated and retreated.
The commander of the Ground Forces noted the work of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, which dealt a powerful blow to the enemy in battle.
Our defense forces securely hold the front and do not allow the enemy to advance. The battle for Bakhmut continues … As Carl von Clausewitz said: “The war is fought for victory. And that’s the point, ”summed up Syrsky.
