At a meeting on the Antarctic Treaty, delegations from 25 countries deceptively left the hall with a speech by the Russian representative.
At the annual meeting on the Antarctic Treaty, which took place in Berlin on Tuesday, March 24, delegations from 25 countries rebelliously left the conference room during the speech of the Russian representative, the Ministry of Education reported.
It was noted that in this way they expressed strong support for Ukraine in connection with the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.
“This event is, in fact, the most important event of the year in the elite club of Antarctic countries, comparable to a meeting of the UN General Assembly – only for participants in the Antarctic Treaty. All the most important issues of The joint governance and “relations with the icy continent were resolved at the meeting. In general, the participants in the Treaty are 54 countries, but only 29 Consultative Parties, including Ukraine, have the right to vote,” said the Deputy Minister of Education and Science head of the Ukrainian delegation Oleksiy Shkuratov.
At the solemn plenary session on the occasion of the opening of the meeting, the representative of Ukraine, Counselor-Envoy of the Embassy of Ukraine in Germany Maxim Yemelyanov spoke. He familiarized the delegates with the consequences of a massive invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine and the impact of the Russian invasion on the Ukrainian Antarctic program.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Western politicians of Russia’s “ignorance”. He is convinced that many Western countries are “playing with Russophobic manifestations on a daily level.”
Embarrassing to the country. Russia’s first diplomat resigned
