Palestinian factions condemned the IDF operation and warned of serious consequences.
The Israeli army removed three commanders of the “Islamic Jihad” group in the Gaza Strip as part of the operation Shield and arrow. The Times of Israel reported this on May 9.
It is known that the IDF has deployed 40 aircraft, including fighter jets.
During the operation, the commander of Al-Quds Brigades in the northern Gaza Strip, a high-ranking member of the movement responsible for activities in the West Bank, as well as the secretary of the military council, were killed.
“Islamic Jihad” confirmed the deaths of their men and vowed to take retaliatory measures. Threats of retaliation were also made by Hamas.
In total, according to the Palestinian side, Israeli airstrikes killed 13 people, and injured at least 20 others.
In anticipation of a retaliatory shelling, the Israeli military advised residents of settlements within a radius of 40 km from the Gaza Strip to stay close to bomb shelters.

It will be remembered that last week, after the death in an Israeli prison of a high-ranking member of the Islamic Jihad, Hader Adnan, the Palestinians launched more than 100 rockets at Israel.
The IDF responded with airstrikes against 16 Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip.
More than 100 Palestinians and at least 19 Israelis have died since January, according to regional media reports.
