The issue of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine is being discussed in the United States, Great Britain and Denmark.
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said the government is considering transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and is in talks with its allies. Reuters writes about it.
“We are actively discussing with Denmark, Great Britain, several other European countries, as well as the United States, the transfer of F-16 aircraft to Ukraine,” Rutte said during a visit to Sao Paulo.
According to him, an agreement must first be reached between all partners, as happened in the past before the delivery of howitzers and Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine, so the discussion is still ongoing.
“We must help Ukraine in this fight. If Putin succeeds in Ukraine, and I don’t think he will, he will not end there. People are worried about their own safety in Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris and throughout Europe,” he stressed. Rutte.
Earlier it was reported that the US Democrats demanded the transfer of F-16 to Ukraine. F-16s and missiles could be key to the defense and the planned counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Yuriy Ignat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said several dozen pilots were ready to board Western F-16 fighters.
