War criminal Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to use the Victory Day parade in Moscow to show off the Kremlin to Central Asian countries. This conclusion was made by analysts at the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Moscow announced that President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Dzhaparov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzioev and President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon would come to the Russian capital for the May 9 parade.
The ISW points out that the late announcement of the participation of Central Asian leaders likely indicates their reticence about direct and public support for the war, despite the efforts of the Kremlin. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan also flew to Moscow.
In addition, preparing for a counteroffensive by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian occupation authorities continued the forced evacuation of the civilian population from the rear areas of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.
ISW also notes that the Russian-occupied Transnistria has asked Russia to increase the peacekeeping contingent in the region, which is likely to support the Kremlin’s efforts to destabilize Moldova. However, according to experts, Moscow is unlikely to deploy additional forces in Transnistria, given its constant need for troops in Ukraine.
