The UN hopes for constructive and honest discussions with all parties to overcome the grain export problems.
Turkish Istanbul will host a high-level meeting on the extension of the grain agreement. This was said by the Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergei Vershinin, Russian media reported on Tuesday, May 9.
“We have a high-level meeting in a four-party format in Istanbul tomorrow and the day after,” the Russian diplomat said.
Last week, the UN announced a high-level meeting on the grain deal. They look forward to constructive and honest discussions with all parties, whose goal is to overcome difficulties.
Earlier, Turkey announced the risk for the grain deal. In Russia, the list of requirements for the extension of the grain deal is extensive, starting with the reconnection of Rosselkhozbank to the SWIFT system.
As you know, in March, Ukraine announced the extension of the grain initiative for 120 days, and Russia for 60. According to Moscow, the agreement will expire on May 18.
And on the eve it became known that Russia again blocked the work of the grain corridor.
