The SBU found out that the attacker was helping his ally to “promote” his pro-Russian Telegram channel.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) in Kyiv exposed a colleague of the collaborator and propagandist Tatyana Montyan, who managed her pro-Kremlin Telegram channel. The SBU press center reported this on Tuesday, May 9.
“Being in the territory of the aggressor country, he (Montyan. – Ed.) was far involved in information and subversive activities against Ukraine his longtime ally and former party member. It turned out to be a 46-year-old resident of the capital, who has known Montyan personally since 2014, and later even ran for the Kyiv City Council of the 8th convocation from its political force,” the report said.
The attacker helped his accomplice “promote” his pro-Russian Telegram channel, which has half a million subscribers. In it, he “moderated” discussions in the comments and blocked users with Ukrainian patriots.
The collaborator “filtered” messages that did not meet the “standards” of Kremlin narratives or did not support Montyan’s criminal activities.
In addition, he also distributed destructive content on his own pages of popular social networks: he denied the participation of Russian invaders in air strikes on Ukrainian civilian facilities and spread fake news about the situation at the front . These facts are confirmed by linguistic expertise.
Law enforcement searched his address and found computers and mobile phones with evidence of illegal activity.
The SBU informed the attacker of suspicion under the article Justification, recognition of legitimacy, rejection of armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, glorification of its participants (part 1 of article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
It will be remembered that the SBU reported suspicion on all senators of the Russian Federation. They face up to 15 years in prison or life in prison with confiscation of property.
