Self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko also flew to the parade to Vladimir Putin.

This is his second trip to the parade in Moscow since the beginning of his presidency, he usually turned down invitations under the pretext that he could not miss the holiday in Minsk.
Previously, Lukashenka attended the Moscow parade in 2020.
The festivities will also include:
- Tajik President Emomali Rahmon;
- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev;
- President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov;
- President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev;
- Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.
This year, the Kremlin made great efforts to ensure that at least someone other than Putin was in the parade.
Firstly, it will work for propaganda, and secondly, Putin is actually hiding behind the heads of other states from possible unplanned celestial phenomena in Moscow.
Last year, after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, there were no foreign leaders in the parade at all. Putin’s speaker Sands said at the time that this was “not an anniversary date.”
According to Kazakh President Tokayev, this visit will not change his country’s policy on anti-Russian sanctions – Almaty will not be helped to circumvent the restrictions.
Recall that in Ukraine on May 8, President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted a bill to parliament, which will be established on May 8 as the Day of Remembrance and Victory over Nazism in World War II.
Since 2016, the public holiday on May 8 in Ukraine has been called the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation, and May 9 was celebrated as the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II.
Now Zelensky has proposed combining these two holidays and celebrating them on May 8. The law that he introduced to the parliament is a top priority and will be considered at the next meeting of the Rada.
