In Russian Belgorod, they decided to cancel the May 9 parade for security reasons. This was announced on Monday evening, May 8, by Belgorod Mayor Valentin Demidov.

“Friends, I have decided to postpone the celebration tomorrow, May 9, for security reasons. We see what events are taking place in the border areas in recent days. I am sure you will agree with me – it is not equal of danger,” said Demidov.

He added that May 9 is limited to placing flowers on the monuments of the Great Patriotic War and congratulating veterans.

It was previously reported that the occupiers of Crimea canceled the May 9 parade.
