This was announced on May 8 by the head of the Zaporozhye Regional Military Administration, Yuriy Malashko.
According to him, the evacuation is not always voluntary. According to residents of the occupied territories, many of them are forcibly taken to Russia by the Russian military. Such messages and videos appear on social networks.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a morning report that the Russian invaders are carrying out the so-called evacuation of local residents from the temporarily occupied Tokmak, Zaporozhye region, towards Berdyansk.
Representatives of the so-called “local authorities”, collaborators, children, teachers and educators are subject to this procedure. At the same time, parents are threatened not to count the school year in case of refusal to “evacuate” the child. Queues for fuel are observed at gas stations, all drivers are informed that new fuel deliveries are not planned. In the village of Vesele, Zaporozhye region, the local branch of the enemy is closed and does not function. The destruction of the documents of this institution was observed the day before, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
According to Russian Gauleiter and collaborator Yevgeny Balitsky, appointed by Moscow to the post of acting head of the region, over the past weekend, more than 1.6 thousand people, including 660 children, were taken out of Russian-occupied cities and towns near the front line in Zaporozhye.
The day before, the Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that Russia provoked a “crazy panic” by evacuating the population of the city of Energodar, located next to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
The UN Nuclear Supervisory Board raised concerns about the safety of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, calling it “increasingly unpredictable” after Moscow ordered the evacuation of residents from Russian-occupied areas near the facility.
Among the 18 front-line settlements whose residents were evacuated over the weekend was Enerhodar: the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is located there. This is what scares the UN.
It was in Energodar that most of the station’s employees lived, Rafael Grossi, director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency, said in a statement.
Grossi stated that he was deeply concerned about the “increasingly tense, stressful and difficult conditions” for staff and their families, as well as the “very realistic threats to nuclear safety that the plant is facing.”
The Ukrainian mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, said that Russia provoked a “crazy panic” by evacuating the population of the city of Energodar, located near the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
The Russian authorities ordered people to leave 18 settlements in the Zaporozhye region, in particular Energodar, on the eve of the expected offensive by Ukrainian troops.
The IAEA confirms that its experts working at the plant have received information about the beginning of the announced evacuation of residents from the nearby city of Energodar, where most of the ZNPP personnel live.
