Lithuanian authorities ransomed two sailors captured off the coast of Africa from pirates. This was reported on May 8 by the press service of the republican government.
It was learned that the operation took six weeks to free the hostages of the Monjasa Reformer ship.
The sailors have returned home and have been paid a ransom, the amount of which has not yet been disclosed.
Recall that the tanker Monjasa Reformer, owned by a Danish company, was seized by pirates at the end of March, 140 nautical miles off the coast of Congo.
It is known that 16 crew members became hostages.
