Ukraine needs a more modern air defense system, in particular, the Patriot air defense system, the Air Force spokesman said.

It is too early to rejoice over the downing of the Kh-47 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile in the Kyiv region. Yuriy Ignat, spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, announced this on the air of the national telethon.

According to him, Ukraine needs a more modern air defense system, in particular, the Patriot air defense system, to protect itself from Russian military attacks.

“The Russians learned early about this successful work. We should be happy that we have such weapons, but it is too early to be happy, because there are few of them, more of these systems are needed to protect our big cities, to protect the infrastructure and nuclear power facilities,” Ignat stressed. .

Recall that on May 4, the Ukrainian military for the first time managed to shoot down the Russian X-47 Kinzhal missile, which the Russians call hypersonic. The enemy missile was shot down by the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.

Earlier, Ignat reported that the Kh-47 Kinzhal hypersonic aeroballistic missile, used from the MiG-31K aircraft, was the latest threat.
