The maneuvers will take place in northern Europe. They provide rehearsal of live firing and the defeat of various targets.
Naval exercises Dread Shield, will begin in northern Europe on Monday, May 8th. More than 20 US and NATO warships, as well as more than 30 aircraft, including F-35s, will join them. The Pentagon reported this on Friday, May 5.
“Next week, training of the US Sixth Fleet and NATO Naval Striking Forces will begin Dread Shield (Heavy Shield) held every two years,” said Pentagon Deputy Spokeswoman Sabrina Singh.
These exercises take place in odd years. This time they will last from May 8 to May 26 and will provide the participation of 13 allied countries of the Alliance.
The maneuvers include live firing and engagement exercises of subsonic, supersonic and ballistic targets.
It will be recalled that the military exercises Aurora-23 will be held in Sweden in April and May, which will be the largest national maneuver in more than 25 years.
