The blockade of the Dorohusk – Yagodin checkpoint occurred due to a strike by Polish carriers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine sent a note to its Polish colleagues in connection with the protest action of Polish carriers, which since May 4 blocked the movement of trucks through the largest checkpoint Dorohusk – Yahodyn . This was announced by the Deputy Minister for the Development of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Serhiy Derkach, Interfax-Ukraine writes.
“Those complaints and requests presented by Polish carriers are not relevant. We work on equal and consistent terms with Polish carriers, so we see no reason to block the checkpoint,” he said.
According to the Deputy Minister, for his part, Deputy Prime Minister, head of the Ministry of Restoration Alexander Kubrakov has prepared a letter to the Minister of Infrastructure of Poland Andrzej Adamczyk.
Derkach said that the electronic queue at the checkpoint at the beginning of the protest consisted of 3.3 thousand vehicles that had to cross the border in five days. Currently, the queue is shrinking due to the fact that Ukrainian carriers are forced to go to other checkpoints.
He added that it is not yet known how the Dorohusk-Yagodin BCP issue will be resolved in the near future.
According to Ukrtransbezopasnost, on May 5, there were 2,782 cars in the general queue at the checkpoint, and 454 cars in the queue for veterinary control. . The system provides an expected waiting time in the general queue of more than 5.5 days, in the veterinary – more than 12 days.
Protesting carriers from the Polish side are demanding the renewal of the licensing system for Ukrainian carriers. In addition, they demanded to ban the entry of Belarusian and Russian semi-trailers. The protest was registered until June 3.
It will be recalled that earlier the checkpoint was blocked by Polish farmers amid the grain crisis.
