A foreigner in a car tried to enter the state border, but was stopped by Polish border guards.
A French citizen was detained in Poland while trying to enter Russian territory on Thursday, May 4. This was reported by the local border guard.
The incident took place at the Grzechotki checkpoint in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, which borders Russia’s Kaliningrad Region.
Border guards refused to let the 36-year-old Frenchman into Russia due to lack of necessary documents. After that, the foreigner crashed into the border barrier with a car at high speed. However, he still had to stop, as the border guards put tape with spikes on his way.
The detainee explained his strange behavior by saying he wanted to go to Russia, where he “planned to start a new life.”
During a search of his car, border guards found cartridges for hunting weapons, for which he has a permit in France, but did not receive a similar permit in Poland.
After a fine was imposed for the broken barrier, a French citizen was released.
Remember that in Poland they decided to strengthen the troops protecting the state border.
In addition, in the summer of 2022, in Poland, after five months of work on the border with Belarus, the construction of a fence with a height of five meters was completed.
