During the operation of the martial law regime, there is no need for citizens to be on the military register of conscripts under the age of 27.
The Ministry of Defense, together with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, proposed new changes to the law on reducing the age limit for citizens who are in the military registration of conscripts. Yes, they want to reduce the draft age of Ukrainians from 27 to 25 years. This was reported by the press service of the department.
The Ministry of Defense explained that during the martial law regime there is no need for citizens to remain in the military register of conscripts under the age of 27.
First, the need for their annual arrival at territorial recruitment and social support centers, including for medical examinations, leads to additional financial costs, a burden on medical workers and an increase in queues for IHC. While conscription for immediate military service during martial law was not carried out.
Second, the long stay in the military register of conscripts during martial law leads to the fact that a large number of citizens eligible for military service who do not have the status of conscripts cannot be called up for service military during mobilization.
The department emphasized that such an initiative was agreed upon by other government and security structures and aimed at strengthening the state’s defense capabilities.
Recall that in January the Cabinet of Ministers approved a new procedure for the registration of conscripts, those liable for military service and reservists.
