The investigation of Poland is considering various versions of the fall of a rocket in the forest, in particular, when the Russians in December 2022 carried out one of the massive attacks on Ukraine. However, none of the Polish departments has officially confirmed this information, the Onet portal writes, citing a top officer of the Polish Armed Forces.
We do not yet have 100% confirmation of this fact, but there are many indications that this situation happened a few months ago. Our Air Operations Center radars then tracked the flight of this missile, but at some point it was lost, the source said.
The case is being investigated by the prosecutor’s office, experts and special services. None of the departments has officially confirmed the information about the Russian missile.
At the same time, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that the investigation is checking whether the found rocket is connected with the “events of December last year.”
Earlier, the head of the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Tomasz Piotrovsky, also recalled the events of mid-December 2022, when the Russians carried out one of the massive attacks on Ukraine.
Recall that near the Polish city of Zamostye, located about 15 km from Bydgoszcz, fragments of an unidentified military facility were discovered. The Ministry of Defense of Poland noted that the situation does not threaten the safety of local residents. The RMF24 publication suggests that these are the remains of an air-to-ground missile. She was discovered on April 25th. On the wreckage, inscriptions in Russian were noticed. The rocket has no warhead.
