The dealers tried to sell two turbojet aircraft engines to partner country Russia, but the SBU exposed their scheme.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) prevented the illegal export of engines to Iran in military aircraft. The SBU press center reported this on Tuesday, April 2.
“In the course of comprehensive measures in Dnipro, two businessmen were exposed who were trying to illegally smuggle two D-36 turbojet aircraft engines to Iran for sale. It was established that the defendants planned to sell Ukrainian products to foreigners in amount of $400,000,” the statement said.
Customers planned to use this equipment on the AN-74 military transport aircraft. The attackers tried to take aircraft engines from Ukraine under the guise of parts for major gas pipelines. However, SBU officials exposed the deal and blocked it.
The organizers of the “scheme” are two owners of a Dnipro company specializing in cargo transportation to countries in the Middle East and Africa.
The dealers plan to do a “cosmetic” repair of these units and make fake documents on them for subsequent sale. The attackers hid aircraft products in a hangar on the business territory. He was found there by law enforcement officers during a search of the defendants’ workplace.
The engines have been removed for examination. After that, it is planned to solve the issue of their transfer to the needs of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.
SBU investigators launched an investigation under the article Violation of the procedure for the international transfer of goods subject to state export control (part 1 of article 333 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
An investigation is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Recall that in Vinnitsa and Zhytomyr, SBU and DBR employees exposed the attackers who financed “DNR” militants with more than 50 million hryvnias.
In addition, the SBU detained six Internet agents in Russia. One of the enemy’s henchmen called for the genocide of Ukrainians and missile strikes Satan in Western countries.
