The defense forces will do everything to prevent the enemy’s aggressive plans from coming true, the spokesperson of the Eastern Group of Forces emphasized.
Russia is about to “set a Guinness record” for the number of terms for capturing Bakhmut. This was announced on the air of the telethon on May 2 by the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Cherevaty.
So he commented on the enemy’s plans to capture the city in the Donetsk region before May 9th.
The speaker noted that in the traditions of the powerful Russians, they continue to set any victories on certain dates. However, the Ukrainian army is “suddenly changing these traditions.”
“They (Russians. – Ed.) are about to set a Guinness record for rescheduling the dates when they are supposed to take something. By the end of March, they have to take the whole of Donbass… The first dates for taking Bakhmut were in July 2022, but it still stands. Our Defense Forces will do everything to prevent any of these dates from becoming reality,” Cherevaty said.
According to him, the Armed Forces of Ukraine maintain a mobile defense in the Bakhmut area, positional battles are taking place there. If necessary, the Ukrainian defenders retaliated.
During the day in the direction of Bakhmut, the Russians lost 106 people killed and 127 wounded, most of them – PMC mercenaries Wagner.
Earlier it was reported that intensive fighting continues in Bakhmut, in some parts of the city the enemy counter-attacked and abandoned some positions.
