This was stated on the air of the national telethon by the speaker of the Ukrainian Air Force Command Yuriy Ignat, the Ukrinform agency reports.
Why they let them in from the Caspian is because a missile missed from an airplane does not always fly to its target. It falls… it’s easier when it falls into the Caspian Sea than somewhere in Russia on the Russians’ heads,” Ignat noted.
He noted that cases of falling Russian missiles on the territory of Russia have already happened in the Rostov region, when the Russians made launches from there, as well as from the Volgodonsk region.
There, rockets fell right on houses,” Ignat noted.
According to the speaker, the fall of missiles and bombs on the territory of Russia may also occur due to the fact that the pilots of the aircraft release them earlier, because they do not want to take risks and fall into the zone of Ukrainian air defense.
He noted that Russia will continue shelling in the future, given that the Ukrainian forces cannot yet get the planes from which missile launches are made.
So, Ignat notes that air defense systems cannot cover the entire territory of Ukraine, so our state needs F-16 fighters.
According to him, several dozen pilots are already ready to fight on the F-16, and in total they plan to transfer all pilots to these aircraft.
We need to teach everyone. But the commander of the Air Force determined the pilots who already have a certain level of English, combat experience, and these are young pilots. They are ready to fight even tomorrow,” he said on the air of the telethon.
Here we need a political decision so that we can start the process of training ground personnel as well, these are combat command and control officers, military engineers. Several dozen pilots are already ready to fight,” Ignat added.
