City Council allocated 100 hectares of land in Bykivnia for the Memorial of Heroes of Ukraine

    Memorial for the Heroes of Ukraine: The city council today took away the land and started the procedure for creating the National War Memorial Cemetery in Bykivnia.

    The total area will be about 100 hectares.

    Recall that Bykivnia is a settlement within the capital on the territory of the Desnyansky district on the left bank of the Dnieper.

    It operates the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Bykivnyansky Graves” – a reserve of national importance, the largest burial place in Ukraine for victims of mass political repressions of 1937-1941.

    The territory of the National Historical and Memorial Reserve “Bykivnyansky Graves” is almost 239 hectares and is the largest burial place in Ukraine for the victims of Stalin’s repressions.
