Law enforcement officials detained four people and informed them of the suspicion of hooliganism in the territory of the National Reserve Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. The press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office reported this on Thursday, April 20.
According to investigation materials, on April 19, a group of people, acting in concert, tried to enter one of the buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
“The violators, ignoring the comments of the representatives of the law enforcement agencies, crowded with them, broke the protective shutters and doors, then they illegally entered the premises,” the report said.
Law enforcement officials were able to identify and arrest four people involved in the illegal activities. The issue of choosing preventive measures of suspects has been decided.
Recall that last week the commission of the Ministry of Culture began work on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and recorded violations. Based on the results of the work at the Lavra, the commission sealed one of the shrine sites.
On April 19, the commission of the Ministry of Culture inspected three more monastery sites on the territory of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. After that, the UOC-MP believers broke the protective shutters on the building, which was sealed by the commission of the Ministry of Culture.
