The builders have started earthworks. The decision to strengthen this section of the border was made a few months ago and is associated with the aggressive policy of Russia:
It will be a New Honor fence, which is on the border with Belarus. There will be many night and day surveillance cameras, motion sensors. We will be able to monitor what is happening on the border with Russia. Construction will end this year, in the fall.
Currently, a temporary barbed wire fence with a length of more than 100 km has been built on the border with Russia. This is a large part of the entire border. The entire section of the land border with the Kaliningrad region is 198 km.
An electronic barrier is a system of cameras and motion sensors.
The system will cover the entire land border with Russia, with the exception of the Vistula Spit, where electronic devices have been guarded for several years.
We will have full monitoring of what is happening on the border with the Russian Federation,” Kaminsky said.
Earlier, the Poles built powerful fortifications on the border with Belarus. At the end of January 2022, Poland began building a fence on the border with Belarus. A 186 km wall was erected along the border to contain migrant flows. The new barrier with a total length of 186 km and a height of 5.5 m was commissioned in the summer of 2022.
