The French leader has instructed his foreign policy adviser, Emmanuel Bonn, to work with senior Chinese diplomat Wang I to create a framework that can be used as a basis for upcoming negotiations. In Paris, they believe that negotiations between the warring countries can be held on this plane. It is reported by Bloomberg, citing informed anonymous sources.
It is noted that these negotiations will depend on several conditions, including the successful counter-offensive of Ukraine, which will provide Kyiv with a strong position during any negotiations with the aggressor country.
The publication also writes that Macron was unable to convince Chinese leader Xi Jinping to talk with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Recall that French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to China stated that the time for negotiations between Ukraine and Russia had not yet come, because “the weather is now military.” The French leader noted that the Ukrainians continue to restrain the Russian invasion, and the partner countries are helping them in this.
