President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited advanced positions of Ukrainian troops in the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian head of state on Tuesday, April 18.
It is indicated that Zelensky heard a report from the commander of the Donetsk operational-tactical group on the situation in his area of responsibility. The President also spoke with military personnel of the Marine Corps, airborne assault, mechanized and artillery units and thanked them for their service.
“I have the honor to be here today, to thank you for your service, for protecting our land, Ukraine, our families. I congratulate you on the holidays, Happy Easter and wish you only success – what what I wish for every Ukrainian, which is very important for us I wish health to all of you and your families and sincerely thank every Ukrainian for the long journey you are going through every day,” he said.
The President presented the soldiers with state awards. The defenders received the Orders of Bogdan Khmelnitsky II and III degree, as well as the Orders for Courage II and III degree.
“The military presented the head of state with a military coin, a chevron and a board with the symbols of the 110th separate mechanized brigade,” the message said.
The day before, Zelensky announced preparations for the next meeting in the Ramstein format. He expects “great decisions that meet prospects on the battlefield.”
