At least 40 passengers were injured in a collision between a passenger and freight train in eastern Bangladesh. This was reported on April 17 by Kaler Kantho newspaper.
It is learned that the incident took place on Sunday evening in the vicinity of the city of Comilla.
Police confirmed to local media that the Sonar Bangla Express train, which was heading from Chittagong to Dhaka, crashed into a freight train parked at Hasanpur station.
The injured were taken to hospitals in Comilla, about 90 kilometers southeast of the capital, Dhaka. Some passengers are in critical condition
According to the preliminary version, the collision occurred due to the failure of the signaling system at the station and the mistakes of railway employees.
