War criminals from the private military company Wagner are likely to force mobilized Russians to sign contracts with them. This is reported by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
ISW analysts point out that 100 mobilized in the Lugansk region went missing after they refused to sign a contract with the “Wagnerites”. Geolocation footage released later shows how Prigozhin’s militants detain the mobilized in Kadievka before taking them for training.
The Russian Ministry of Defense may allow mobilized personnel to carry out their duties by signing contracts with the Wagner group, although the status of mobilized personnel originally assigned to regular Russian units that have signed contracts with Wagner is unclear, ISW notes.
The Russian military command is likely to increasingly transfer responsibility for offensive operations in Ukraine to the Russian airborne troops (VDV).
Recall that Russian mobilized personnel continue to publish public complaints about the ill-treatment of Russian commanders.
