North Korean leader Kim Jong-un attended a football match this weekend in Pyongyang on the occasion of the so-called “Day of the Sun”, the most important national holiday dedicated to the birthday of Kim Il Sung, the founder of the country and the grandfather of the current marshal, the state agency reported today CTAC.
As in February, on the birthday of Kim Jong Il, his father and predecessor in office, the current leader attended a football match between cabinet ministers and the defense ministry in the North Korean capital.
As in February, Kim was accompanied by his daughter, presumably Kim Joo Ae, and her sister Kim Yo Jung.
Also present at the podium were two members of the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party, Kim Tok-hoon and Cho Yong-won, as well as other top officials of the regime.

On the occasion of Sun Day, Kim avoided visiting the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the mausoleum where the embalmed remains of his father and grandfather are buried in Pyongyang, which he also did on Kim Jong Il’s last birthday.
Some analysts believe that the way Kim Chen In decided to celebrate the anniversaries of his father and grandfather this year, they seem to be focused on praising their own figure, and not so much the previous leaders, as was traditional.
In turn, the incumbent leader opened on Sunday the construction of 10,000 new homes in Pyongyang’s Hwaseong district in a ceremony held at night that included fireworks, it is reported. CTAC.
The regime has proposed building 10,000 new homes a year in Hwaseong, north of North Korea’s capital, by 2025. (E.F.E.)
