Ukrainian defenders not only defend the city, but also prevent the enemy from approaching Avdiivka. On April 15, the commander of the Tavria operational-strategic grouping of troops, Brigadier General Alexander Tarnavsky, announced this on Telegram.
He also published a photo of the destroyed Russian armored vehicles in this direction. He noted the work of the Ukrainian artillery and wrote that this is how “the orcs are resting near Vuhledar”.
Our artillery works accurately, every soldier in the trenches today performs tasks at the highest level, the message says.
Recall that in March, British intelligence reported that the Russian army suffered heavy losses near Vuhledar due to RAAMS remote mine systems, which the Ukrainian Armed Forces successfully used. In some places, mines were thrown behind enemy units advancing on the positions of the defenders. This caused confusion and panic as Russian vehicles tried to withdraw.
A conflict is brewing between the political and military leadership of Russia over Ugledar.
