The head of the Ministry of Defense (MO) noted that the priorities of Ukraine are known – the protection of the sky, the creation of an “armored fist”, the provision of ammunition.
Ukraine needs to acquire both Soviet-style weapons and Western-made systems. This was announced by Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov on his Facebook page on Saturday, April 15.
According to him, he met with Greek Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos, Cypriot Defense Minister Michalis Georgallas, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles, Romanian Defense Minister Angel Tilvar and their teams.
“The goal does not change – weapons and other forms of support that strengthen the defense forces of Ukraine. Our priorities are known – protecting the sky, creating an “armored fist”, which provides ammunition. We are working on different tracks. We are interested in both Soviet-style platforms and, in particular, rockets and shells on them. After all, these weapons immediately appear in battlefield. So are Western-made systems that provide superior capabilities,” the official said.
The head of the Ministry of Defense explained that it is about attracting aid, training programs for Ukrainian soldiers, and also agreed to the production.
“Such visits and meetings at the political level are very useful, because they not only help maintain high general dynamics, but also contribute to the rapid resolution of many practical issues, which will take several weeks away,” concluded Reznikov.
Recall that the Ministry of Defense said that the mobilized Ukrainians were not sent to the front line without proper training.
