The Strategic Command of the US Armed Forces on Tuesday, April 11, begins the annual exercise in nuclear command and control in Global Thunder 23. This is stated in the message of the command, European Pravda reports.
“The purpose of the GT23 exercise is to strengthen nuclear preparedness and provide a safe, secure and reliable strategic deterrent force. These exercises take place annually and are not a response to the actions of any country or other actors ,” the message said.
It was noted that the personnel of the entire Strategic Command of the US Armed Forces, as well as representatives of the allied states, especially Great Britain, were involved in the exercises.
It will be remembered that from June 12 to 23, NATO countries will hold the largest air exercise in their history, Air Defender 2023.
It was also reported that the Philippines and the United States will conduct the largest joint exercises in the history of the two countries against the backdrop of China’s military activity in the Taiwan Strait.
