A group of foreign leaders is forming who have expressed public support for the issue of Ukrainian children.
Work is underway to build an international coalition for the return of Ukrainian orphans. This was announced on April 10 by the press service of the Ministry of Reintegration, citing Deputy Prime Minister Irina Vereshchuk.
He recalled on the air of the Rada TV channel that Russia illegally detained 4,396 orphans in the temporarily occupied territories and illegally brought them to the territory of the Russian Federation.
Today, the Coordinating Council for the Protection and Safety of Children, headed by Andriy Yermak, is working on building an international coalition whose task is to return Ukrainian orphans and punish those responsible for crimes against among Ukrainian children.
“A pool of international leaders is already forming who have expressed their public support for such a coalition. Among them are (European Commission head) Ursula von der Leyen, (Polish Prime Minister) Mateusz Morawiecki and others,” Vereshchuk said.
According to him, it is also important to have an intermediary in this matter, which could be the International Committee of the Red Cross, UNHCR, UNICEF, etc.
It will be remembered that almost 50 countries have signed a joint statement on the illegal forced deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia.
