Alexander Tretyak believes that this church structure should be banned in Ukraine because of its close ties to the Russian Orthodox Church.
The head of the city of Rivne, Alexander Tretyak, announced plans to terminate all land lease agreements with the UOC-MP. He announced this on his Telegram channel on Thursday, April 6.
According to him, this decision is planned to be made at an extraordinary session of the City Council.
He noted that this structure should be banned in Ukraine because of its close ties with the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), which blessed Russian invaders to kill Ukrainians.
“At a time when our men are dying in war, when Russia is killing civilians and our soldiers every day, it is unacceptable for a church to operate on the territory of our community, associated with a anti-state position.
I am sure that these decisions will reduce the influence of the aggressor country on the religious situation in Ukraine, will knock down the basis for spiritual and military occupation from the occupier,” concluded Tretyak.
Recall that the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate ceased to exist in Lviv.
We add that on the eve of the main temple of the UOC-MP in Lviv, St. George’s Cathedral, decided to transfer to OCU.
